Discuss practical set-up and positioning strategies for critical moments such as transitions, naptime, and field trips. Leave with actionable ideas and team-friendly conversation starters designed to evaluate supervision practices and reinforce safety-awareness at your program. This session covers the Set-up the Environment and Position Staff components of Active Supervision along with a selection of licensing rules from Wisconsin’s Department of Children and Families (DCF) rulebook. This training covers the definition of trauma-informed care (TIC), challenges in defining it, and practical ways to implement TIC practices using Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) guidelines. It also addresses the difference between traumatic exposure and stress, as well as common and uncommon psychological responses to trauma. *This training is primarily focused on Family Child Care, but it can be utilized by all program types.
