Building Leaders: A Directors Collaborative
Would you love a place to bounce ideas off of directors and program leaders, while also learning some new things along the way? Building Leaders: A Directors Collaborative was created as a reminder that you are not alone; leadership feels lighter when it is shared. Leading a child care program is important work, and it comes with a lot of responsibility. You are supporting children, families, and staff, making decisions all day long, and holding things together in ways most people never see. This collaborative is designed as a professional learning space where directors can gather ideas, talk through challenges, and connect with other leaders who understand the realities of the role. In a relaxed, supportive setting, sessions offer targeted training and occasionally include guest speakers from early childhood agencies across the state who share resources and perspectives. Each session stands on its own, and directors are welcome to attend one or many. When participants return regularly, conversations tend to go deeper and connections grow stronger. Through shared problem-solving and peer connection, the collaborative recognizes that many leadership challenges are shared and easier to navigate together. Each session highlights a focused topic – topics include: -Leadership and management -Staff retention and workplace culture -Marketing, recruitment, and enrollment -Business operations and financial stability -Policies, procedures, and risk management -Systems, organization, and time management -Health, safety, and wellness -Challenging behavior and inclusion -Licensing and quality improvement And more – driven by director needs.
